9 августа произошли взрывы на военном аэродроме «Саки» в Новофедоровке, в Крыму, в 20 км от Евпатории. По данным российских властей, пострадали 13 человек, среди них двое детей, один человек погиб.

В Минобороны РФ заявили, что сдетонировали авиационные боеприпасы, украинские власти официально не подтверждали нанесение ударов по аэродрому в Крыму. Вице-премьер Украины Ирина Верещук, комментируя произошедшее, заявила, что взрывы в Новофедоровке — «очередное напоминание о том, чей Крым».
