Local military commissar Roman Malyk was found dead in Partizansk, a city in Russia’s Primorye region, the city administration reported on its official Telegram channel.

“It is with profound sorrow that we report that on the evening of 14 October, Roman Malyk, the military commissar of the city of Partizansk, the Partizansk and the Lazo district, tragically passed away,” the message says.

Local media report that his body was found on a fence with signs of suicide. However, Partizansk residents doubt that the draft chief could have killed himself, the news outlets note. The police are considering the possibility of suicide or murder, Amur Mash Telegram channel wrote.

On 26 September, a resident of Ust-Ilimsk opened fire at a local draft office, wounding chief of the draft commission Alexander Eliseev. Eliseev was hospitalised in a critical condition.

The shooter was detained. According to Telegram channel Baza, the shooter is local 25-year-old unemployed resident Ruslan Zinin. Media outlet Mash reports that he started shooting when Eliseev was giving instructions to people subject to mobilisation.
