After capturing Sievierodonetsk, the Russian army is “focusing its efforts on capturing Lysychansk, the Luhansk region’s last fortress,” says Serhiy Haidai, the local mayor.

“A series of airstrikes hit the town and Bila Hora [its suburb]. There is a lot of damage,” Haidai says.

The Russian army finally got a foothold in Sievierodonetsk, Borove, Syrotyne and Voronove, Haidai says. They shelled the Azot factory and a State Emergency Service training area, as well as the localities of Synetskyi, Pavlohrad, Vovchoiarivka, Belohorivka, Verkhniokamienka, Zolotarivka and Loskutivka yesterday.

The local authorities reported yesterday that Sievierodonetsk had been captured by Russia; the country’s Defence Ministry confirmed this and said the Azot factory is controlled by the so-called “LPR militia.”
