The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained a Russian citizen in the city of Krasnodar who was allegedly spying for Ukraine, the Russian News Agency TASS reports citing the FSB press service.

“An agent of the Ukrainian Security Service who operated under an alias of Archi and was actively collecting information and passing it along to Ukrainian Security Service agents has been detained in Krasnodar red-handed,” the FSB claims.

The Russian national is alleged to have been receiving money for “collecting and passing overseas information that could be used to endanger the security of the Russian Federation.”

The Russian is now facing a treason case and can be sentenced to 20 years behind bars, TASS notes.

On August 16, the FSB claimed that Ukrainian sabotage parties staged three explosions to attack power transmission lines leading to the Kursk nuclear power plant. The plant’s operation was interrupted but later restored. A terror attack criminal case was launched, Russian agencies are now looking for the perpetrators.
