Putin orders 10,000 rubles for families of schoolchildren in Ukraine's occupied territories

Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved an order covering “preparations for the 2022-23 school year” in the so-called “DPR” and “LPR,” as well as Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Kherson regions of Ukraine, according to a statement on the president’s official website.

One-time payments of 10 thousand rubles (close to $165) will be paid to one of the parents of children aged 6 to 18 years of age, "if these children started studying in general education organisations" located in the "DPR," "LPR," Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv or Kherson regions no later than September 15, 2022.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has been appointed responsible for the implementation of the order. As per the instruction, the one-off payments have to be transferred by 1 October 2022.
