Sergey Shpilkin, a mathematician and an independent electoral analyst has had his Moscow home searched, OVD-Info reports.

Shpilkin is currently abroad. The police knocked down the apartment door, his wife, who must have been present when the police arrived, cannot be reached by telephone.

Shpilkin says his wife has heart disease, and might be in need of medical aid. It is unknown what the reason behind the search is.

Sergey Shpilkin is an independent electoral analyst. Last year, he calculated that Putin’s United Russia party received around 14 million “anomalous” votes. They would only get between 31 and 33% with no ballot-box stuffing, he says.
