Putin: attendance of G20 Summit still undecided

The question of the Russian president’s participation in the G20 Summit, which will take place in Indonesia in November, has still not been resolved, Vladimir Putin said during a press conference following the summits in Kazakhstan’s Astana.
Putin noted that there was currently no “negotiating platform” with the US President Joe Biden.
“We have to ask him whether he’s ready to hold such negotiations with me or not. I don’t see any necessity [in them], to be honest, on the whole. Currently, there’s no platform for any kind of negotiations,” the president said in answer to the question whether he would hold negotiations with Biden, if Putin goes to the G20 Summit.
Several days ago, Indonesia’s Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said that Putin and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky would participate in the G20 Summit, which will take place in Bali. Marsudi noted that the Indonesian ministry “continues to establish communication with leaders of the two countries”. However, neither Russia nor Ukraine have so far confirmed the respective presidents’ attendance of the summit. The summit will take place in Bali on 15-16 November.
