‘They sent him to the front line on the third day’: wife of 23-year-old Russian draftee says he was killed in Ukraine

Alexander Mukhyanov, 23, a draftee from Russia’s Karpinsk (Yekaterinburg region), was killed during the war in Ukraine, his wife Kristina told local news outlet E1.

Kristina and Alexander got married on 19 August. On 28 September, the young man was drafted. He had no combat experience, but he completed mandatory one-year conscription service three years ago, his wife said.

Before he was drafted, Alexander worked at a garbage collection company. He was handed a call-up card at home.

his widow says, adding that he was with Yevgeny Bizyaev, a resident of Krasnoturyinsk, also in the Yekaterinburg region. Bizyaev, 28, was drafted on 28 September. A week later, on 8 October, he was killed.

Mukhyanova added that “the official paperwork says that Sasha [Alexander Mukhyanov] was killed on the 14th [of October]”.

The regional draft board confirmed Mukhyanov’s death, while the city administration promised to help his widow organise the funeral.

Earlier, Novaya. Europe discovered that two draftees from the town of Polevskoy, Yekaterinburg region of Russia, Maxim Izgagin and Ilya Korolyov, had been killed in the war in Ukraine. The men completed mandatory conscription service several years ago. Both were drafted in late September and killed in mid-October. The exact location of their death is not known.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the order announcing “a partial mobilisation” in Russia on 21 September. He stated that all draftees would undergo additional military training before they are sent to the combat zone.

Nevertheless, there are reports of draftees sent to the front line with no training or experience.
