One person has died in a missile strike on Ukraine’s Kherson, several buildings have been damaged, the Kherson City Council reported.

“Russia launched another strike on Kherson today… A Kherson resident died in the attack after a missile fell near his car,” spokesperson for the city’s military authority Dmytro Pletenchuk noted.

He also added that a missile had landed on the Kherson regional administration building, while another government building and a school had also been damaged.

Pletenchuk claims that Russian troops used S-300 air-defence systems to attack Kherson, attempting to strike the city from a long distance.

On 18 December, head of the Kherson region administration Yaroslav Yanushevych said that 3 people had been killed and 6 more had been injured in a Russian attack on the region. “Peaceful towns were targeted by artillery, air-defence, mortars, tanks, and sniper rifles. The enemy once again attacked Kherson’s residential quarters. They struck a medical facility, private houses and blocks of flats,” Yanushevych said.

On 11 November, Kyiv liberated Kherson. The next day the regional military administration, police department and Ukrainian security service resumed operation in the city.
