Military prosecutor's office asks websites of UN and Turkey’s Anadolu be blocked in Russia

Russia’s military prosecutor’s office has filed a lawsuit asking to restrict access to websites of the United Nations and Turkish news agency Anadolu. This information was posted on the official website of a district court in the city of Vladimir.

According to court data, the lawsuit was filed on 11 January. The interested party in the case is the Vladimir region Department of [Russia’s censorship agency] Roskomnadzor.

It is not stated what was the reason for the lawsuit. It will be considered by judge Anna Rizhova on 27 January.

According to the data provided by project Roskomsvoboda, as of 27 December 2022, Roskomnadzor has blocked over 9,000 websites on the grounds of military censorship on the territory of Russia; in total, almost 247,500 web pages were added to the list of banned websites in 2022.
