Russian forces attack Kyiv with drones and cruise missiles. City government reports destroying 30 air targets

Ukraine’s air defence has destroyed 30 air targets in the sky over Kyiv and the Kyiv region in the early hours of 2 June, the head of the Kyiv city military administration Serhiy Popko says.
“This time the attack was combined — [they used] drones and cruise missiles simultaneously. The missiles were launched from strategic bombers Tu-95MS from the Caspian Sea area, most likely those were cruise missiles Kh-101/555. At the same time, Kyiv was attacked by UAVs from different directions. According to preliminary data, those were Shahed loitering munitions,” he explained.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces later clarified that Russia’s Armed Forces had used 15 cruise missiles and 18 Iranian-made Shahed attack drones in total; all of them were destroyed, according to the Ukrainian military.
Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office reports that an 11-year-old child and a 68-year-old man were injured in the attack on the Kyiv region. The man was hospitalised.
The air attacks have been happening daily for the past six days, the city administration notes.

Air raid warnings were declared in all of Ukraine over the night.
Lately, Kyiv has been getting shelled by Russian forces almost daily. In the early hours of 1 June, Russian troops attacked the Ukrainian capital with Iskander missiles.
