Overnight shelling by the Russian military has claimed the life of one person in eastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, Governor Oleh Synyehubov reported on Monday.

Synyehubov said that the civilian had been killed in “the enemy’s mass-scale shelling” of the town of Vovchansk, adding that fires had broken out as a result. The other Kharkiv region villages of Pidlyman, Borova and Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi were also targeted in shelling.

In southern Ukraine’s Kherson region, a 13-year-old girl and her mother were injured in Russian shelling.
